Michael Lee Aday, known by most of the world as Meat Loaf, filed a slip and fall lawsuit after a fall during a convention left him hospitalized. The slip and fall accident occurred in May 2019. Rock singer, Meat Loaf, sustained severe injuries when he fell off a stage at a convention being held on Hyatt property.
According to the slip and fall lawsuit, Meat Loaf, a.k.a. Michael Lee Aday spent 42 days in the hospital due to injuries sustained to his neck, collarbone, and shoulder. After a next 12-day stay when he was rushed to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center emergency room, Aday was transferred to Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for 30 additional days of hospital care.
Michael Lee Aday, the 72-year-old singer, and his wife Deborah Lee Gillespie, sued Hyatt Regency DFW, as well as Texas Frightmare Weekend LLC, the organizer of the event, for premises liability and negligence. Aday (better known as rock singer Meal Loaf with popular songs like “Bat Out of Hell” and “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)) was scheduled to participate in a Q&A session during the Texas Frightmare convention. He walked out on stage and allegedly, the stage and curtain were set up in a way that made it impossible to see where the stage ended, resulting in Aday falling off the stage when he walked out to join the Q&A.
Due to serious injuries sustained during the Texas Frightmare Event in 2019, Meat Loaf was hospitalized for 42 days. Additionally, the rock singer’s neck, collarbone and shoulder injuries require ongoing physical therapy. Meat Loaf has been unable to return to his performing career since the slip and fall injury, so he has experienced significant economic loss as a result of the negligence.
